WELCOME 1980's Pennsylvania State Road Maps BOTTOM

The cover designs improved a little in the 80's.

This is a half way decent photo, and no concrete! But there is that dumb saying on the cover.
PENNA TURNPIKE. There was no official map issued in 1981. This is a map from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission who issued their own turnpike maps separately from the highway department. For some turnpike history, see Pennsylvania Turnpike.
This is a picture of City Hall in Philadelphia with the statue of William Penn on top. A hotel entrance is in the foreground.
No official map issued.
Two maps with the same cover were issued in 1984, one saying 'Transportation' and the other saying 'Tourist' map. Again, a Pittsburgh photo follows a Philly one to maintain geographical harmony. Why don't photos of Erie or Scranton appear?
OFFICIAL MAP PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE SYSTEM. There was no official state map issued in 1985, however a turnpike map was published.
This is the dome of the state capitol in Harrisburg.
Two maps with the same cover were issued in1987, one saying 'Transportation' and the other saying 'Tourist' map. This is a picture of Independence Hall.
No official map issued. The state switched to not issuing maps in even numbered years.
Two maps with different covers were issued in 1989. This is the one labeled 'Tourist' map, and no photo!
This map is labeled 'Transportation' map. The picture shows the inside of the capitol dome in Harrisburg.
